BB 0913 Big Brother UK

It's not often you hear Big Brother apologise, but tonight they set off a chain of events by a simple mistake of playing part of Mohammad's Diary Room speak to the house setting Alex off in a tirrade. In BB 0913 it was M's birthday and he decided to have a cross-dressing party where women dressed as men and men dressed as women. I found myself dismayed to see Alex sat on the sidelines tutting and sucking saying it makes her sick. That to me looked like casual homophobia however nothing seem to have been done about that. The only consolation is that she is up for eviction.

As for other events, nominations passed by. Luke although endearing at first is now becoming quite annoying. Everything is in the same excitable yet monotonous tones. I think there is more to him than being a simple little boy.

And Jennifer and Dale seem to be getting closer by the day with discussions about her child going on between the pair of them being the primary limiting factor in them getting together. We shall see how this one pans out...

10/10 (Big Brother is well on form this year!)

BB 0912 Big Brother UK

Another day, another storyline force fed by BB - Crisp Licking.

I can't decide who is being devious in BB this year as they are all at it. Dennis is terrible as he now has lots of people feeling paranoid about what has been said about them. As for Alex she does nothing but bitch about others behind others backs but as soon as anything resembling that happens to her she makes such a scene and commotion. And I can't quite decide what is going on with Sylvia - does she really resent her time with Alex or is she a rat trying to escape from a sinking ship? Maybe Dennis was trying to ameliorate the situation but by being vague he has not endeared himself to anybody at all...

And oh BB, you were naughty interrupting Mario's hand shandy. Very funny.

BB 0911 Big Brother UK

Well, the music task. The music task. The music task. WOW woopdedoo. I am catching up with BB tonight and I must say that BB really do control the narration - in each episode there is a task of some sort to make "good" and "memorable" television and its getting old. The story isn't in the task but in the interactions!

Mario was a tit in BB0911. He was complaining that the task was not going well as the team wasn't pulling together but the way he went out telling Darnell this was obscene, pulling him up in front of the whole group. It really infuriated me. He was so bothered about other people that he didn't have an instrument. Both he and Lisa are like slugs judging the rest of the house. Sat perched on their luxury bed - Mario has run a multi million pound company apparently - managed lots of people did you! And then sat on the bed - he has to train L up - and the response; "not today". Hahahahahahah

There is definitely a group emerging. Mohammad, Rex, Kat, Jen, Rachel, Darnell and Dale. They seem to be up late at night together quite often. Alex has been on good behaviour though, I don't think this can last too long...

BB 0910 Big Brother UK

WOW - love is in the air for Jennifer and Dale. I must say, even though i thought Dale was prickish at the beginning, he is growing on me and is coming across as genuine.

As for Sylvia - woah momma - someone is stirring with a big fat spatula smearing the brown stuff on the walls!

Enjoyable!

Well, Steph went. Wrong decision really, Mario should have gone...

I guess I was right - teenage girls voting...

Although why they wanted to keep Mario in I DO not know!

BB 0909a Big Brother UK

Live episode number one and its Steph who has gone. Interesting. By the end of the week although I started it quite anti-Steph I found myself wanting Mario to go as he is acting like a child about Steph. If anything she showed far more depth by saying she didn't want to leave the house on such a negative note...

As for Jennifer, I saw a little bit of the Jennifer I knew from school tonight when she was joking on and laughing and did the little nose flare thing. And bless, her and Dale are getting ever closer...

I felt for Mikey - the noise seems to be getting too much! I felt quite bad that I found him funny when dancing bu at least he enjoyed Darnell's free-style which was pretty good, I must say.

D

BB 0908 Big Brother UK

Not a happy house but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the task. I thought it was brilliant and really did show who is and isn't playing for the team. Kat was so upset and in much distress but she kept with the group and continued to get shocks whilst Alex couldn't deal with it so she had to give up.

The strange thing is, Alex seems completely unable to take any criticism whatsoever. I admit that Rex was being a little aggressive but he was clearly trying to make the task work and Alex just can't take any opinion which isn't concurrent with her own.

As for Dennis, he showed his true colours continuing to shock people on purpose after they knew they were upset and then yelling at Rachael due to the stress. Give me a break, Dennis. They were crocodile tears as you knew people would go for your blood otherwise after your purposeful shocks.

Yet again, conflicts galore...

WD 0401 Weeds: Mother Thinks the Birds Are After Her

What a promising opening to this rather messed up drama. I especially liked the opening credits showing Majestic/Agrestic in flames.

How Nancy will survive in Ren Mar remains to be seen but I found it disturbing for her character that as someone who just "fell into" the drug trade, now that she has moved her first instinct is to make money through it rather than find a job. I have a feeling the border will have a huge part in the new series and it is interesting that the new series has relocated to such an area considering this is an election year...

Back in Majestic/Agrestic, things aren't looking too good for Celia as Isabelle masterminds Dean, Doug and Sanjay to frame Celia for the drugs. This group are definitely the comedy of the show. With two sets of characters being in separate locations, the whole episode was left feeling a little unbalanced and clunky albeit it did do well considering they are completely changing location for an ongoing series...

Interestingly there is no sign of Conrad and Heylia as yet; but they can't be far behind...

BB 0907 Big Brother UK

WOW - the group this year are quite interesting and forming interesting groups.

Sylvia is already beginning to distance herself from Alex who argued with Rex because he took a cigarette. Further to that, Jennifer and Darnell argued, Mario and Steph argued and - well - I guess the lack of food really does make people grouchy.

But Alex is bloody annoying and has got to go.

I feel for Jennifer, she is finding it hard. She should be proud of how she acting - she is acting like a lady. I remember her from school as a bit of a silly girl but she is definitely a fully grown up, sensible, compassionate woman now.

10/10 (Conflicts galore - again)

D

BB 0906 Big Brother UK

Chipgate. Oh Chipgate Chipgate Chipgate, truly on a par with Watergate.

It is safe to say now that Alex's days are numbered following her performance on this evening's Big Brother. Firstly, systematically bitching about people in the house (which Sylvia and Dennis were privvy to whilst Dale tried to sink into the seat). Then to have a go at Rebecca because she burnt some chips was just - well out of this world.

Her argument was that because there is a professional chef in the house, nobody else should cook however I though this was misguided as being a chef is his job, not his life and she realise that there is a difference. I was very pleased that Jennifer (gan on like!), Rachel and Steph stuck up for her as it was bullying. Systematic and cruel. I found it funny how she claimed that she was trying to have a conversation but it was in fact anything but as the speech was going entirely one way and she would NOT listen to anything anybody had to say.

And it appears that Jennifer and Dale are getting closer... Bit by Bit.

We shall see

GA 0303 Grey's Anatomy: Sometimes A Fantasy

See what happens when you play two people along Meredith? They end up more bothered about the competition than the prize.

This was the first episode in a while which felt like a general episode which is strange considering it had a few fundamental changes in it; it appears Mark is now a regular character; Addison and McDreamy are well and truly over and Burke seems like he is going to be out of the Operating Room for a long long time; which is where Mark will come in as a regular...

Izzie tries her best to confront her fears but seemingly without success but at least she is surrounded by her friends at the end!

7/10 (A little too average for my liking)

D

DW 3110 Doctor Who: Midnight

This was the first Russell T Davies episode I have liked since; since Gridlock (DW 3003). His writing has become very stale and gimmicky; not helped by him being the biggest contributor in each series however with such moments of brilliance proved with DW 3110, I do hope that he continues to write at least one episode per season...

Midnight was a purely psychological thriller and made all the more scary by not being able to see the monster within. And then the repetition and subsequent (apparant) infestation/possession of the Doctor is downright terrifying. This is a true character drama (with a hint of sci-fi) with 90% of the story taking part in one enclosed, claustrophobic space.

Lesley Sharp brilliant portrayed Sky Silvestry and played the part well; Alice Troughton's direction to realise what was essentially people repeating other people was brilliant. It was such a simple idea - well - I should stop raving on about it.

Colin Morgan played the kid role very well - it is very hard to be a moody teenager but be likable.

The most terrifying thing of the episode was the one thing which is normally overlooked; the other "civilians" didn't trust the Doctor and almost killed the man who was their only chance of escape.

WOW - Powerful stuff

10/10

D

DW 3109 Doctor Who: Forest of the Dead

What a satisfying conclusion. It was strange having Donna's story running simultaneous to the main action on the Library (planet) but it was worth it. I especially liked the reasoning and outcome of the story - thanks to the Doctor Moon - who was Doctor Moon in the dream - very much like the Madame de Pompadour spaceship in DW 2904. Very Moffat.

Despite much of the story being a "dream" it was not as bad as that Dallas feeling.

I found the River Song story stuff really annoying. I don't care about her. Yawn. And she was quite annoying as she just came across as a know it all.

It was a satisfying outcome to the two-parter and it is safe to know that Steven Moffat is a safe pair of hands for the future.

GA 0302 Grey's Anatomy: I Am A Tree

Doctor Burke's Mom is a Christina but older. What comedy around such terrible terrible issues going on. I did like Burke's father's comment of "Hang in there"...

Meredith finally makes a decision that it is McDreamy she wants only to encounter Eric taking food for Izzy at which point she gets confused after which the ultimatum is further prolonged by her decision that she is going to date them both. And who ever said you couldn't drag out such a tense ultimatum?!

And Izzy will be back in the hospital. Bailey blames herself. All will be well...

But most shocking was Mark's return - sleeping with Addison - OMG OMG OMG - McDreamy will now be ready to fight for Meredith.

9/10

D

GA 0301 Grey's Anatomy: Time Has Come Today

WOW - one of the only shows to leave one season on an ultimatum and still have no decision left after the end of a full episode.

It appears that the chief's marriage has finally ended, Addison and McDreamy's marriage is over, George's relationship is almost over before it began owing to the L(ove) word and Izzy's life is over as she knows it.

Oh, and McDreamy announces he loves Meredith. As if she didn't know it already. Makes the waters muddy to continue with the ultimatum...

AP 0411 The Apprentice

The interview round is now an annual expectation of the Apprentice however with five candidates left we discovered much about them!

Claire, the bolshy northerner (again there is always one) is being lined up to be the favourite which makes me think that she may not win and the producers may have other plans.

Lee is thick. Who really would do an impression of an inverted pterodactyl in an interview. And he lied about his education. Because he is thick. He can't win now as the message that would send out would be terrible.

Alex is hot but wet and boring. I agreed with everything said about him, both positive and negative. I would like him to win but only because he is hot.

Helene. Quiet. Bland. Introducing a back story at the eleventh hour. Yawn.

Lucinda, one of my favourites but alas - she wobbled about her convictions for wanting the job which was asking Sir Alan to point his podgy finger her way!

AD 0316 American Dad: Spring Breakup [Finale]

AD was on form tonight with jokes coming from left, right and centre. I especially liked the escapism of how you can change a house into a spring break paradise. And just when you think Steve is going to lose his V, the opportunity vanishes in an instant...

The series is gradually improving to be more consistant. Roll on season four!

BB 0905 Big Brother UK

Wedding Day. Task Fail. Nudity at the end.

Big Brother annoys me more and more how they try and force the narrative with putting in gimmicks such as this wedding. It prevents us getting to know the characters.

It was still fun though...

BB 0904 Big Brother UK

Drink and it kicks off in BB. Day Four!

Mikey was a bit of a weirdo and put on some ladies knickers. But Alex and Sylvia had a massive go at him and way over the top. Taking things to new levels of being insulted. The way they talked to him about being disrespectful was disrespectful in itself. They need to look beyond their reflections in a mirror.

But then again, Mario's defence of Mikey that you can't speak to him like that because he is blind is missing the point. You can't talk to Mikey like that because he is a person.

But suspicions are rife about the wedding.

And Dale likes Jennifer, finally my friend gets some screen time!

BB 0901 Big Brother UK

Another year, another Big Brother...

  • Mario & Lisa: A couple; I wonder what is going on there
  • Luke: Tee-Total. Seems a nice innocent boy. I especially liked Lisa not knowing how to take a tee-totaller; "Well, what do you do?"
  • Steph: Pretty and clever? She isn't going to be liked by the voting public's biggest group; teenage girls
  • Rachael: Child star? Hmmmm.... Kick start her career anyone?
  • Dale: Seems like an arrogant prick but those are first impressions. Wait. He is a prick.
  • Sylvia: Shy Sierra Lionian girl. What are you from if you are from Sierra Lionne? There's a question and a half...
  • Dennis: Camp. EUGH. Gives my sexual orientation group a bad name.
  • Michal: Blind. I liked how as he came through the door there was a scream of excitement OOOOOOOOOOOO followed by pity; AHHHHHHHHHHH
  • Alexandra: the IT girl of Croydon. Well what are you doing in Hertfordshire bitch? Piss off back to Croydon.
  • Rex: Who? Quite quiet and simply pased me by...
  • Mohammed: Seems like a cool chilled guy; and I LOVE the hair!
  • Rebecca: Coventry. OTT. OMG. GTG!
  • Darnell: There were difficulties with this name: Darrel. Daniel. Danielle. David. Seems like a very interesting character as he has already had a very interesting life...
  • Jennifer: Excited but ruffled. I actually went to school with Jennifer, we were in the same form and she is much quieter than what I remember... I shall watch this lady closely...
  • Katraiya: Thai lady who likes cookies - a little weird but the crowd seemed to like her - and it was sweet that she couldn't find the bedroom.

AA 0114 Aliens in America; One Hundred Thousand Miles

AA continues to surprise managing to deftly deal with a tough teenage issue; acceptance.

You could argue that this episode marks a coming of age for the show as Raja realises that his home in the USA really is with the Tolchuck's - not a Muslim family. More importantly Mrs Tolchuck realised that they were very lucky to have Raja.

Awww, bless!

SH 0509 Shameless

Shameless is such a fast moving TV drama that you get a shock when the writers throw in a slow and emotive episode such as the arrival of Alzheimer-suffering Monica's mother (portrayed outstandingly well by Anne Reid who manages to get just the right balance of pitiful and cruel). In what other show could such topics of child abuse, euthanasia, money from death, care homes and indeed death itself be portrayed alongside the youngest Gallagher (Liam) stealing cars and still be moved?

Oh - and Stan and Yvonne's romance, where did that come from!? Well - it is Shameless

LO 0407 Lost; Ji Yeon (Sun & Jin)

I'm not sure when I started hating Jack but I do now. He does nothing but whine and moan. It was galling to discover that the season three finale was a flash forward and he would be guaranteed for the future episodes - or at least the way this series is going it may just be a single season reprieve.

The flashbacks are also becoming increasingly annoying as we now know enough about much of the original cast's characters to stop caring such as in this episode. Sun was once pregnant. There's the story.

I was sat watching this episode thinking to myself that this show used to excite me so so much and its sad that now it is becoming just a TV show to me when at that exact moment, I met Kevin Johnson.

8/10 (Helped by the ending)

DH 0416/0417 Desperate Housewives; The Gun Song/Free [Finale]

What a very dissapointing finale. It had no urgency, no speed until the last ten minutes. To be blunt the whole episode sounded like it was going through the motions...

Kayla & Lynette's mini arc ended nicely as did Susan's brief problem of letting Julie go. All convenient. And speaking of convenience; Gabrielle & Carlos were skint so took in a lodger who turned out to be a drug dealer and by the end of this episode they find hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'm sorry Mr. & Ms. Writers, if that is the best that you can come up with then you don't deserve the settlement from your strike! It's insulting to the audience.

Bob and Lee's wedding is organised by Bree who is still reeling (without realising) from her seperation from Orson and there are a few comic moments however the main plot point for this is for Bree to go and discover Katherine and Wayne and to discover Katherine's terrible secret which makes the show live up to its name - Desperate. The convenience issue was immense on this secret - oh I know what I'll do, I'll just pop off to a Romanian orphanage.

I was thinking that it would be interesting how Susan would cope without Julie as Hatcher's character is so dependent on her teenage daughter for support... But then the ending! Five years ahead? Interesting. No more Mike & Susan? Bree & Orson again. Juvenile delinquents? Katherine still round the table. Gabrielle has let herself go. I'm not sure how it'll pan out but it was interesting.

All in all, the show didn't seem to hit its creative stride it was in pre-strike leaving you feeling like the fourth season was one of two halves. Before the strike, the show was churning out some of the best material in its history - ever. After the strike DH became inconsistant in quality and the finale was simply insulting.

DH 0415 Desperate Housewives; Mother Said

Evil Kayla. Whoop Whoop! I really feel sorry for Lynette having trouble with K. Tom just believes his daughter and the whole situation is something that is pretty understandable and I can believe happening in real life (step children lying because they don't like their step-parent).

Mike's Mom is very funny; I especially like the "Northern Oppression" quote. What a biggot!

Gabby finds the lodger's drugs - this story came from nowhere and is going nowhere simply created for a finale...

Edie & Bree's new feud reaches new levels with Edie blackmailing Bree that she may tell the truth about Bree's daughter; but the wives stick together and Edie leaves (!)

SL 3310 Saturday Night Live: Ashton Kutcher (Gnarles Barkley)

Good show with quite a few funny sketches - I especially like the cougars sketch and the nightclub sketch (although it is quite frightening to remember how much race is an issue in the U.S. when considering their recent history)...

The Activia advert was amazing - the imagination for such a sketch is both disturbing yet inspired. The four-men-in-a-bar was wrong - plain wrong - as was the paralyzed pole dancer! WRONG!

Ashton was the weakest link - there is something very insincere about him that I really dislike. Still, he is hot...

UB 0214 Ugly Betty: Twenty Four Candles

Betty! LEAVE HENRY FOR GIO NOW! Charlie re-emerged and ruined Betty's birthday preventing Henry from attending but Gio saved the day.

On the magazine side, Wilhelmina is scheming to keep her sister, Renee away from Daniel as it risks putting her plans to take control of 1/3 of the magazine in jeopardy.

The episode was good although again felt a little like it was going through the motions as it returned from the strike. I did find it funny how some characters had completely different hair - Hilda for one has hair WAY to classy for such a Queens lady... And it isn't good as it makes her teeth look too big.

V 2003 Love Actually

OK, I understand what Curtis was attempting in his screenplay but for me it just didn't work very well. The whole film was disjointed and felt clunky forcing movements from character to character. This was somewhat unusual as barring Kris Marshall's character, I did care for the other characters - especially Rickman's character going through an emotional affair but it was the forced movements from story to story which really annoyed me as just as you were getting into a character you would get step change.

The cast was phenomenal - it is like reading a list of IMDB's top page list;
  • Hugh Grant
  • Alan Rickman
  • Bill Nighy
  • Colin Firth
  • Emma Thompson
  • Hugh Grant
  • Liam Neeson
  • Keira Knightley
  • Kris Marshal
  • Andrew Lincoln
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor
  • Rowan Atkinson
  • Martine McCutcheon
  • Thomas Sangster
  • Rodrigo Santoro

Thomas Sangster was charming and very apt as an actor (considering he is so young).

Curtis' view of London can be a little annoying, but I think that is due to my current situation presently being short of money. I'm aware that people do live very well in London but it is quite depressing when you are short of funds... Also, there were a few people who had appartments/flats/houses far out of their realistic funds.

The film looked nice, just was lacking. I suppose I had heard such great things about it I would inevitably be let down. But I was just that - let down.

AA 0113 Aliens in America: Community Theatre

Another good episode from the CW, perhaps one of the best so far. The idea that his Mum is so desperate to spend time that they join a theatre group is so OTT and yet very believable as Mum's can be - well - overpowering. Justin's infatuation with a college student goes on a pleasant journey which ends in a mild result (of sorts) for him at the end.

In the other half of the episode, Raja and Claire get close in an unorthodox manner and it could be a possible hint at the way things may go in the future? I do hope...

D

DH 0414 Desperate Housewives; Opening Doors

This was a decent showing although not as good as recently - felt like there was a little something missing - not sure what. Still, it is revving up for the finale is good - Catherine now knows that Dylan is in touch with her father and you could really feel just how on edge Catherine was at the ending - and it emerged she was gripping a gun!

Things seem to be going bad for Lynette - having problems with Kayla (again) although this time they seem a little more serious. It's strange how she was at one time in the third series evil personified, then nothing happened and suddenly again Satan has reared its head. Susan had a comedy episode until her and Mike and a tete a tete about his struggle every day being off the drugs. Bless. Gabrielle has let someone in her home and - well - things aren't going to go swimmingly.

Finally, Bree and Orson's baggage is getting heavier by the episode and Orson essentially proved what a weak man he is. That does seem to be Bree's type - weak and wet. Rex. George. And now Orson.

SL 3309 Saturday Night Live: Christopher Walken (Panic! At The Disco)

Weekend Update was good this week with a few gems but all in all quite a dissapointment. Not even the (amazing) Panic! At the Disco could save it...

DW 3108 Doctor Who: Silence in the Library

WOW, Moffat was on tip top form with this chilling concept.

Like Russell T Davies who uses a shopping list of items when writing a story (at least two pop culture references/jokes, trying to be too clever, making the doctor annoyingly self-righteous), Moffatt too does seem to be following a shopping list for his episodes (every day objects nade scary (statues/gas masks/shadows), real character dialogue, fan-bating, technology running amok and catchphrases)…

As annoying as "Donna Noble has left the library" became, the whole episode really worked. The idea of this flesh eating monster that you can't see and lives in shadows is very enjoyable indeed. One of my favourite elements was the little girl seemingly connected intimately to the library. The scene where she was the in pain on Earth whilst the Doctor was probing a CCTV camera was especially effective.

The fan-bating aspect was a possible future companion who seems to know lots about the Doctor's future but is forbidden to say anything. How annoying. How bating. How rife the speculation is. Or it could be that River Song was a receptionist at an intergalactic hotel where the Doctor may have stayed at… And Donna, poor Donna. I have stopped hearing aspects of her sketch show when she acts and I truly felt for her when she was trying to cope with the data ghosting effect from the dead PA. The grief and confusion running through Donna was clearly visible. I think this episode worked so well not because of the visual effects and the brilliant acting both of which were highly evident, but because much of the script was the cast standing in two rooms, talking. It was interesting to have a show which was at a completely different pace compared to other episodes this season which are essentially 60s actions sequences meshed into an episode.

This is a promising and tantalising glimpse at what the series may become under Moffat's stewardship.

I just want to know if the Library stone PA effect is permanent!

SM 1920 The Simpsons: All About Lisa [Finale]

The Simpsons whilst still being a cartoon used to have an air of believability to it. An idea that Lisa could become an intern to Krusty, then replace him on his TV show, go on to win an award and then give it all up and return to family life in eighteen minutes. Just bad. Very bad. Even the couch gag was bad.

SL 3308 Saturday Night Live: Jonah Hill (Mariah Carey)

Quite a good episode with a few good laughs.

Mariah Carey? And Tee Pay>!>! As a solo she was bland. As a duet, they were both bland. Both the songs were just any other song from their genre. Utter crap.

If I was in the audience, I would be well dissapointed with such an offering.

Going from bad to good, there was too much MacGruber - it is essentially the same joke over and over and is a symptom of lazy writing i.e. a filler. I mean I know they had a tough time with Jonah as apart from a six year old boy he seemed to play the same old role what he is know for from films but still - I mean come on!

What's your situation and the 6 year old child sketches were lame, but things improved with Suzie Orman - I don't precisely know who she is but I know the kind of TV show very well where some middle aged nobody tells the "nobody's" what to do. And the best sketch of the evening? Quite clearly the "I'm dating your father sketch" but it was helped by Sangberg whose timing is amazing...

I especially liked Tracey Morgan's response to Tina Fey's Hillary comment of "bitch is the new black"... Well... "Black is the new president, bitch". Certainly made me guffaw.

SL 3307 Saturday Night Live: Amy Adams (Vampire Weekend)

Quite an average episode. I especially liked the Hillary introduction at the beginning. It's strange that SNL is at its best when it is overtly political (thus roll on Thursday Night Live this autumn).

The News Update was particularly bad this week although I think the fact that five minutes was reserved for a third party Presidential Impression which went way over my (British) head. The episode was saved though by having another strong sketch at the end involving middle aged women dancing their high-school play dance.

Vampire Weekend were really cool though - really liked their sound...

GA 02--

Far better than the first, the second season quickly descends into some seat clenchingly great scenes.

I was generally positive to the series until GA 0216 "It's the end of the World" and it's conclusion "(As We Know It)" (GA 0217) where the tension is rammed up to unimaginable levels with every character going through something pivotal. All I can say is after these episodes, I was well and truly hooked. Meredith is perhaps the character which goes through the most in this season and quite honestly the amount of crap she puts up with and remains a nice and caring person who doesn't go insane is somewhat unbelievable. In fact it is very unbelievable. Through the series she goes through a major break-up, meets her father for the first time in many years, finds out why her parents really broke up; gets a dog which dies; has McDreamy looking Dreamy at her every five minutes; manages to create a rift amongst friends leaving her out on a limb; survives a very near death experience in GA 0217; discovers she has even more family. It is just unbelievable. But then again it does make good TV.

All the interns here go on a journey and you really do get the impression that they live and work together every hour of the day as the chemistry between the stars is so great. Knight's portrayal of George is particularly commendable as the loveable George who everyone manages to kick at some point. Heigl as Izzie is captivating as she contemplates whether or not to cross a huge important line as a doctor and the results are amazing television. Oh's portrayal as Christina was equally good although I found the character's commitmentphobe attitude to everything annoying, it is massively endearing and strangely rewarding to see her character become more and more human throughout the entire process.

As for the attendings, they also go on quite a rollercoaster. McDreamy (Dempsey) and Addison (Walsh) try to restart their marriage and of course it is not smooth sailing. I found it strange how at first I despised Addison as the character as she seemed to come in only to mess things up for Meredith however by the end of the season I very much liked her as her storylines became increasingly comic (usually the smaller storylines such as being stung by poison ivy on her lady garden) but also tragic (as she realises how much of a struggle it will be for McDreamy to love her the same way as Meredith). Bailey aka the Nazi (Wilson) is a whole load of fun and I think the actress seems to relish playing the bitch of the attendings. Her nazist tendencies do begin to take a back seat after she gives birth and it is nice watching her character mellow and care more for others around her. Burke as a character portrayed by Isaiah Washington is a knob to say the least although I am not sure why. I can't quite put my finger on why I dislike his character so much - I think its his arrogance.

Studying medicine is a tough job where one is forced to spend a lot of time together and you become very close friends so for me perhaps one of the greatest things about the show is how the interns stand together shoulder to shoulder in the finale despite divisions through the year. Furthermore, the residents show that they genuinely care for their interns after Izzie's momentous decision in the finale. The fact that I can (easily) believe the characters care for each other makes me care for the characters.

The Beginning

Good Afternoon!

As a recently confessed television addict, I spend far too much time sat on my backside watching television; or even worse on my back in bed now that I have a working laptop. I have thus decided to keep a blog as evidence for my toil.

My name is David (D for short) and I hope you join me to learn the answers to such questions as;

  • Will Prison Break ever be believable?
  • Will Meredith and McDreamy ever get together? (Grey's Anatomy)
  • Is Donna really a talking space library information point and thus dead? (Doctor Who)
  • Will Eric's career recover from the dire reception of Medellin at Cannes? (Entourage)
  • Will Nancy's relocation from Agrestic really solve her problems? (Weeds)
  • Will Mary-Alice ever respect her dead friend's privacy? (Desperate Housewives)

Yours
