DH 0502 We’re So Happy You’re So Happy.

In one of the most excruciatingly painfully funny stories the show has done, Lyynette discovers her son, Porter, has a softer side by posing as a girl on the internet. I found this disturbing not only because she was betraying her sons trust but also because she was effectively grooming on the internet.

Gaby attempts to mask her demise from the social scene sneaking into an event only to (very predictably) get caught. It’s quite sad to see her no longer as a social queen although even with the fat suit she looks beautiful. Carlos makes a moving speech in the car that even though they don’t have all the material things they want, he has never been happier.

Bree begins to feel the pressures of balancing her home and work life with Orson feeling neglected. I feel for them both – she should ensure she has time for her husband whilst at the same time Orson should remember that what she is doing takes up a lot of her time. It was interesting to see that she has created the business to make up for the loss of the baby, whilst she had nothing (Orson was in jail?!).

Susan decides the two men (Jackson (what kind of name is that?!) and Mike) in her life should meet leading to some comedy.

The most disturbing thing of the episode though was the continued development of Dave Williams as a character – asking Mrs McCluskey to apologise to Edie, and her cat disappearing immediately after she refused only to have it reappear after making the apology. Edie seems to be getting a tiny bit suspicious but we’ll see where this goes… Mrs McCluskey enlists Katherine’s help to dig some dirt up on him.

I have been thinking that Dave Williams could also be a relation of George, surely? Stranger things have happened in this show? This would especially be apt why he had to move to Wisteria Lane if Bree has got an increased profile what with her career?

The show is getting going…

8/10
