UB 0301 The Manhattan Project

This show feels very different to where it was at the end of the last season. There's been a definite shift in tone; I’m not sure whether it's due to the story or the production of the show moving from Los Angeles to New York

The move to NYC is certainly evident with a number of on location sequences in the suburbs of the city such as the fast food restaurant where Betty’s papa has got a job over the summer and whose manager is none other than Lindsay Lohan. The cameo is set to be over several episodes which is a shame because even though the story behind the cameo is good, the acting is sadly not...

It's interesting that the show is exploring the Mead family empire now, with three magazines effectively being discussed (although the primary title is still Mode...)

Wilhelmina is still a scheming bitch and it's brilliant to see the whole office afraid and frightened of her... Even Amanda who doesn't really care about anything...

A good if unsettling start...

(7/10)
