It's good casting to see Anthony Head as the king; he has a big persona and fits the role perfectly... But it is strange to see him as I always have the same problem when I see him; my mind yells Mr Finch / Giles / Prime Minister.
I found Merlin (Colin Morgan’s) acting skills a little wooden to say the least at times but Arthur (Bradley James’) acting skills are as good as he is looking. Casting Richard Wilson as Gaius,
Merlin’s guardian is great too; Wilson has that grandfatherly caring grumpiness in his voice so naturally.
This was a strong beginning for the new show; as soon as it was over I wanted to watch part two.
